9 Orange County Breweries You Need to Taste Test

Orange County’s selection of craft breweries only continues to grow and grow. While the trend started in San Diego, there are plenty of craft breweries that have been popping up all over Southern California. So it’s time to check out some of the craft beers being brewed right here in our backyard.

Located mostly in random business parks and industrial office spaces around OC, here are the breweries you should be venturing out to when you have the chance.

Green Cheek Beer Co

2957 Randolph Ave, Unit B
Costa Mesa, CA 92626

2294 N. Batavia St. Suite C
Orange, CA 92865

Green Cheek has two different locations, one just down the street from the retail and dining venues The CAMP and The LAB. An independent brewery owned and operated by two friends who really love beer and the community it creates, Green Cheek offers a wide selection of beers plus a full menu of food to enjoy. Currently on tap Green Cheek has two hard seltzers, a Coconut Milkshake IPA, and tons more creative beers to taste test.

The Bruery

717 Dunn Way
Placentia, CA 92870

One of the greatest things about The Bruery that makes it widely recognized as one of the best in Orange County is its HUGE selection of craft brews. They have an extensive list of seasonal beers, tons of sour ales, a wide variety of barrel-aged brews in everything from rum aged to tequila aged barrels plus great year-round staples.

They’re all about experimental ales and special barrel-aged creations. Ordering a flight or two to share is a must! You can also take a 20 minute free guided tour of the brewery before you head to the tasting room to try out all the crafty goodness. The Bruery has expanded and also now includes their Terreux Tasting Room at 1174 N. Grove St in Anaheim.

Four Sons Brewing

18421 Gothard St
Ste 100
Huntington Beach, CA 92648

Family owned and operated by Duke and Daune Dufresne and, you guessed it, their four sons, Four Sons Brewing is located in Huntington Beach. The menu usually includes a few seasonal brews and perfected favorites like The Great One Imperial IPA, The Subtle One Habanero Pineapple and Nightmare on Gothard St, a chocolate coffee stout. You’ll always catch a food truck outside the tasting room and you can grab a board game to play with friends while you hang out with a good Hefeweizen.

Noble Ale Works

1621 S Sinclair St
Ste B
Anaheim, CA 92806

Located just down the street from Angel Stadium, Noble Ale Works has a wide selection of diversified beers to choose from. It’s the perfect place to stop by before or after a game or whenever you’re in the mood for a microbrew (aka any time). Enjoy the fun, laid-back atmosphere but warning – not a lot of sitting room. A yelp favorite you should definitely try is their Nitro beer, the Noble Ale Naughty Sauce.

Bottle Logic Brewing

1072 N Armando St
Anaheim, CA 92806

Bottle Logic is united in the thirst of knowledge and beer (according to the writing on their wall) and all about experimenting with different ingredients and brews to create high-quality beer. As with many of the other breweries, you’ll nearly always find a delicious food truck parked out front. You’ll also find tons of beers on tap to choose from, with favorites like the Milk Stout Calf Life and Nitro Mobius Stout. Bonus – there’s plenty of parking!

Bootlegger’s Brewery

130 S Highland Ave
Fullerton, CA 92832

Unlike most of the breweries on this list, Bootlegger’s is located in a busy downtown – Downtown Fullerton to be exact. They have old school arcade games, a huge patio with tons of seating, and your regular lawn games like giant jenga and cornhole. And an extra fun bonus, they also have trivia on Wednesday nights at 7PM.

Bootlegger is a great laid-back place to start or end your night out in Fullerton as well. Or, you can check out their taproom in Costa Mesa, located in the LAB Antimall.

Modern Times Leisuretown

549 S Anaheim Blvd
Anaheim, CA 92805

One of San Diego’s favorite local breweries opened a location right here in Anaheim. In the making for several years, Leisuretown is part brewery, part restaurant, part cafe, and part swim club. All about creating an amazing vibe, the 33,000-square-foot location includes a full-scale production brewery surrounded by a lush beer garden, a swanky pool area, multi-story outdoor seating, and a beautifully renovated historic 3-story craftsman house.

They have over 70 taps pouring a selection of beers & ciders, some of which are brewed both on-site. They offer a plant-based food menu, and a selection of house-roasted coffees.

Brewery X

3191 East La Palma Ave.
Anaheim, CA 92806

Featuring a truly massive tasting room, Brewery X has food trucks parked inside the beer hall during weekends, which also includes a play area for kids, several cornhole games, a stage for live music, and a section reserved for private events. If things get crowded, you can also find a spot to sit in the two smaller rooms or the outdoor patio provide section. Tip: There’s an express bar where you can order your beer if the lines get too long, but it does have a limited beer selection.

Laguna Beach Beer Co.

859 Laguna Canyon Road
Laguna Beach, CA 92651

Now offering three different taproom and kitchen locations, Laguna Beach Beer Co. offers tons of fun beers named after local trails like Canyon Road Red and Thousand Steps. You can check out their seasonal selection in Laguna Beach, Rancho Santa Margarita, and now Huntington Beach.
