It’s been said that all our experiences, good or bad, are learning experiences leading us to where we are meant to go. In reflection I find that to be true in my case.
I had always wanted to travel and after graduating from high school I went to Europe. After many unexpected adventures I found myself in Britain studying at Southampton University, Teacher’s College. From there teaching middle school in London. This is where I realized I really LOVE helping people, young or old, learn new and exciting things.
After 15 years, and many more adventures, I returned home and took a good job that I really liked, BUT American businesses aren’t keen on you taking a month (or two) off to travel! I Realized I couldn’t keep quitting jobs to travel. I decided to get training and opened my own travel business selling trips to Africa and international golf trips. I LOVE helping people realize their dream whether an African safari or playing golf at St. Andrews Old Course and much more. And guess what, I HAD to travel with my job! But seriously I also realized, I am a detail-orientated person who enjoys the nuts and bolts required to be sure everyone had the time of their life. I enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done! Then came 911 and the travel industry turned upside down. I haven't abandoned travel but ..
Through happenstance, I looked into real estate and decided this is would be a great new adventure. But, as luck would have it, I entered just as the world’s economy turned upside down and real estate suffered greatly. Fortunately, it was a good time to buckle down and learn as much as I could about this industry. I realized I LOVE helping people find and buy a new home, I LOVE helping people sell and move on to greener pastures.
So, for me the experiences I have had with people, teaching them the ins and outs of buying or selling a home. The attention to detail to be sure everything goes smoothly. The knowledge I continuously am gaining as our world never ceases to change. If I put this all together -- my reward? The pleasure I get when handing a happy client keys to their new home or enabling them to move on to another.
So, for me everything, good or bad in the past or currently lets me say --- I’m still here and ready to help you!
