The best kind of festival is a summer festival (in our humble opinion), and this June there are TONS going on across Orange County. From free concerts to carnivals and beer festivals, this summer has so much to offer. Check out the list of events in Orange County this June 2017, pick your favs, and start preparing for summertime!

Summerfest Brea 2016

Friday, June 2nd – Sunday, June 4th

Over the past 30 years, SummerFest has grown to become the largest community event in North Orange County. The 3-day carnival with food, family, live music and fun is one of the largest community events in North Orange County. Bands performing this year will be Mick Adams & The Stones, as well British Rock Royalty (a tribute to The Who, Queen, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd). Admission is free and net proceeds from the sale of ride tickets, food, and other attractions raise funds for the benefit of St. Angela Merici Parish School.

Newport Beach Jazz Festival

Friday, June 2nd – Sunday, June 4h

Southern California’s most scenic jazz festival returns! The weekend kicks off at the Back Bay Amphitheater, an intimate venue to get you up close and personal with the musicians. The fun then moves to the golf course on Saturday and Sunday with two stages of music, an international food court, vendor village and great views.

Lemon Grove Market

Taking place in the Woodbury Town Center, you can shop handmade and independent goods from dozens of local makers and specialty food creators. Workshops will be held on most Saturdays; learn creative techniques from our makers and take a piece of the market home with you! Admission is free and the atmosphere is family friendly.

Crossroads of the West Gun Show

Saturday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 4th

During the last year, Crossroads of the West Gun Shows attracts more than half a million guests, more than any other gun show in America. The traveling show will come to Costa Mesa at the OC Fairgrounds this June so you can buy, sell, and trade. From the once a year hunter to the avid collector, Crossroads of the West meets everyone’s needs.

Irvine Studio Arts Festival

Saturday, June 3rd

Each June, the Irvine Fine Arts Center hosts the annual Studio Arts Festival in Heritage Park. The juried festival showcases Southern California artists and their original works of art for purchase in ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber and glass. The festival also features a live performance by Alpha Mule, art demonstrations, and food including ice cream sundaes served in handmade collectible ceramic bowls. Admission and parking is free!

Tustin Street Fair & Chili Cook Off

The Tustin Street Fair & Chili Cook Off is a summer staple and it’s coming this month! The community event includes the Chili Cook-Off, salsa competitions, craft booths, non-profit food vendors, commercial vendors, entertainment, kids area, music, family friendly contests, wine and beer booths, family plaza and kids inflatable attractions. See you at the carnival!

Balboa Island Parade

The annual Balboa Island Parade begins on Marine Ave at 11AM and the after party starts right after the parade is over! The Balboa Island tradition is filled with kids on bikes, Island Dogs, decorated golf carts and floats, vintage cars, USC marching band, drill teams, local dignitaries and much more! Come for the parade and stay for the after party featuring live music and dancing in the street at the fire station. Remember: come early, the bridge closes at 10:45AM!

Laguna Niguel Free Summer Concert Series

June – August

This free summer concert series will have the city dancing through the decades at the Crown Valley Park Amphitheater. Food and dessert will be available for purchase from gourmet food trucks each night of the free concert series. The food trucks available this concert series will be Soho Taco and the Cut - Handcrafted Burgers. Food will be available at 5:30PM so come early and enjoy!

Orange County Big Summer Beer Festival

Saturday, June 10th
3PM-6PM Held at Angel Stadium

Beer, good times and tunes will be flowing at the Orange County Beerfest. Taste unlimited samples of more than 100 fine craft beers from the likes of Fullerton's Evans Brewing Co. and San Diego's Mission Brewery, as well as wines and spirits. Music from DJ Eddey, Bass Punks and other surprise guests and water games. Plus, some of the Southland's best food trucks will be on hand. Everyone gets a custom tasting cup, while VIP tickets include admission to the fest an hour early and access to the VIP lounge with separate entertainment.

Orange County Funk Fest

Saturday, June 10th

Enjoy good music, good people and good times at the Orange County Funk Fest held at the OC Fairgrounds. With tons of great bands and a beer garden, this event is a can’t miss if you’re a fan of funk. Line-up of artists includes Zipp, Chocolate Milk, The S.O.S. band and more.

SoCal Brew Fest

Taste more than 60 beers from tons of local breweries at the SoCal Brew Fest this month. Tickets for unlimited craft beer pours are $39 ($30 early bird until My 31st!). The event includes gourmet food trucks (food sold separately), live music, and of course tons of beers to enjoy all afternoon at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim. Presale tickets are sold out so get your general admission ticket now! The Brew Fest is in Orange County this June and will travel to San Diego and LA in September.

Fishfest is an annual summer festival hosted by contemporary Christian radio 95.9 KFSH. Each year, the festival provides a great lineup of the best in Christian music acts ranging from rocks bands to electronic dance music DJs, all inspired by faith in Christ. It is a family-friendly event that not only features great live music, but a host of kid-oriented activities and food stands with delicious treats from local restaurants as well.

Annual Downtown Anaheim 5K

The Downtown Anaheim 5K run is back! Register for the Northgate 5K Run, the Children’s 5K, or the Kid’s Fun Run to participate in the event. There will be music and food for runners and participants so don’t miss the day of healthy, family fun. The 5K Run begins at 7:30AM and the kids and walkers will follow at 7:40AM and 8AM.

OC Night Market

Frida Under the Stars

Pack a picnic and join Bower’s Museum in Santa Ana for a special outdoor screening of the Academy Award-winning film, “Frida” starring Salma Hayek. Come early, save your spot on the courtyard lawn and grab some fresh popcorn and sangria from Tangata’s snack bar! Then explore our special exhibition: Frida Kahlo: Her Photos. Movie starts at 8PM at sundown.

Summer Fest 2017

Summer Fest is the ultimate celebration of local beach culture and music, and the release of OC Weekly's Summer Guide issue. Summer Fest boasts live music headlined by Pacific Dub and featuring The Simpkin Project, Wheeland Brothers and the winner of OC Weekly's Pick the Band contest, Minor Strut, all performing on the main stage. All held at Newport Dunes, general admission is $25, VIP is $50.

OC Pride

This year's 2017 OC Pride Week theme is “As One". The festivities kick Monday night with events all week long across Orange County. Check out the site for all events including Ms. Gay Pride, Prom and culminating in the pride parade.  The parade will be held Saturday, June 24th starting at 11am on Main between Washington and 3rd, followed by the all-day Festival!

Day of Music Fullerton

Wednesday, June 21st

World Music Day is an annual music festival taking place on June 21st, the first day of summer in cities around the world. The city of Fullerton will be celebrating with their annual Day of Music Fullerton, a festival of 150+ FREE concerts in public spaces throughout the city – all on June 21st during the Summer Solstice. Sidewalks, parks, and more may become impromptu musical stages, dance floors, and social meeting points. There’s no central venue, just wander the streets and feel the beat!

Fountain Valley Summerfest

Thursday, June 22nd – Sunday, June 25th

Celebrate Fountain Valley’s 60th Birthday with a carnival all weekend long held at Mile Square Park. The fun includes live bands all weekend long, food trucks, fireworks on Friday night, carnival games and rides, car show and Parade on Saturday morning at 9AM. Summerfest is free to attend overall, and parking is $5 (or $10 if you like the best spots next to the entrances).

Saint Paul's Annual Greek Festival

Friday, June 23rd – Sunday, June 25th

Get a taste of Greek right here in Orange County at the annual Greek Festival held by Saint Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church in Irvine.  Learn a little Greek, eat your heart out with delicious festival food offerings and stay for the live music, folk dancing troupe performances, church tours and cooking demonstrations. Lamb chops, gyros and dolmathes  - here we come!

The Liquid Run

The Liquid Run is specially designed for you and your friends to splash, bounce, and bound through a floating obstacle course with over 60 challenging (but totally fun) obstacles to traverse, all on top of clean, clear water! The event includes a free play zone, Kids Zone, music, good trucks, and much more! The Liquid Girls will even be on hand to take selfies and help you find the Liquid Libations Beer Garden. It’s all going down at the Newport Dunes, check it out!

Food Wine and Music Festival

Saturday, June 24th

The Orange County Food, Wine, And Music Festival will take place in the all new Grand Tasting Pavilion at Sea Terrace Park in Dana Point. Taste unlimited samples of over 20 of Orange County’s best restaurants, caterers, and bakeries plus exclusive collections of beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Into the craft beer scene? There will be over 80 varieties of craft beer from 40 breweries in the mix as well. General admission is $10 (no food or drink included), unlimited drink sampling is $50 ($60 after June 1st) and Grand VIP tasting is $100.

Doheny Surf Festival

Celebrate the surf lifestyle. The Doheny Surf Festival is two days of fun in the sun including a classic woody car show, official surf competition, Kona brewing beer garden, live music, tons of food, healthy living demonstrations, and a vendor village filled with art, collectables and more. Saturday is the Kid’s Surf Contest and Sunday is the Tandem Surfing Exhibition. Summer Sawdust Art & Craft Festival

You know it’s officially summertime when the Sawdust Art Festival grounds fill with the fine art and craft of over 200 local Laguna Beach artists. Enjoy live entertainment, art demonstrations, and outdoor cafes set in the cool eucalyptus grove. Art enthusiasts, collectors, and novice artists have come to the Sawdust since our beginning in 1966 for a mix of fine art and craft. Medias include hand-blown and fused glass, painting, jewelry, surf art, ceramics, clothing and textiles, wood and metal sculpture, scrimshaw, photography, and so much more.
