Redlands Bowl’s Summer Music Festival

Big Bear Renaissance Faire

The Big Bear Ren Faire is a full scale blast from the past featuring old village streets, jousting, merriment and everyone you know dressed up in a corsets and billowing white tops. The village streets lead you past crafts, costumes, food, stages, and games. The Enchanted Shire has six stages of ongoing shows performing every half-hour. There is also an arena for the jousts and the Great Square for pirate battles, maypole dances, and other fun! Each weekend has a special theme so if you plan to come in costume, dress accordingly.

Rhythm of Riverside Summer Concert Series

The Rhythm of Riverside Summer Concert Series free event is held every Wednesday throughout July and August at Fairmount Park. The winners will receive cash and prizes valued over $1,000. Playing August 3rd will be La Internacional Sonora Show (Cumbias) and on August 10th will be Red Carpet Riot (top 40).

Dive-in Movies at Wet ’n’ Wild

Finding Dory will be playing at the Palm Springs Wet’n’Wild as the final Dive-in movie for the 2017 summer season. Movie is free with park admission so play all day and stay for the film. The movie will start after dusk and the park will be open with limited access until 10pm, weather permitting.

Free Kids Movie Series in Cathedral City

The Cathedral City Parks and Community Events Commission in partnering with the Mary Pickford Theatre to bring a Free Summer Kids Film Series every Friday morning in July and August. The film series will allow free admission in order to see a different kids movie each Friday morning at the Mary Pickford Theatre in Downtown Cathedral City. Here’s the August line up:

Jazz in the Pines

The Idyllwild Arts Foundation will be hosting the 24th annual Jazz in the Pines Festival featuring over two dozen bands. Single day admission is $85 and two day is $150. Performers and fans of jazz, blues, and R&B have a breathtaking mountain campus to themselves after the departure of the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program's thousands of arts-lovers and before the first semester of the Foundation's residential high school, Idyllwild Arts Academy.

Palm Springs Summer Film Series

Palm Springs Art Museum frequently presents free films as a part of its community programming. The films include exhibition-specific movies and documentaries, feature films and other screenings that pertain to specific events. This August, the museum will be playing Paris, Texas at the Annenberg Theater and Meyerman Sculpture Garden. Seating is first come, first served.

Free National Park Entrance Day

It is the National Park Service Birthday which means admission is free for all National Parks including Joshua Tree. The fee-free days provide a great opportunity to visit a new place or an old favorite. The fee waiver includes entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees.

Comic Con Palm Springs
