Have some fun this month in the Inland Empire by participating in a local event. We’ve got a list of what’s going on around town so you can find the perfect outing for you. Our favorite events this month are the Inland Empire Beer & Music Festival, and the San Bernardino County Fair!

Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival

Thursday, May 11th – Sunday, May 14th

This unique festival features an eclectic mixture of landmark and obscure vintage movies from the classic film noir era.  All film screenings take place at the Camelot Theatres, 2300 E. Baristo Road in Palm Springs. Purchase tickets the showings separately or spring for the All access pass for the whole weekend. Visit the website for complete details and move schedule.

The Blacklight Run™ is none other than the brightest, most fun 5K out there. The focus isn’t on how fast or how far you can run, what type of exercise you enjoy, or if you’re an avid runner. It’s all about having fun with the whole family. Every participant will receive a Blacklight Run t-shirt, glow in the dark temporary tattoo, race bib, donation to local charity, glow pack at the finish line and admission to the Blacklight Run after party.

Inland Empire Salsa Festival

Saturday, May 13th

 Held in historic downtown Riverside at the beautiful White Park, the 3rd annual Inland Empire Salsa Festival is back with a chance to taste dozens of salsas from businesses and restaurants in the surrounding areas. Get ready to taste and judge the best salsa for yourself! This event also has tons of fun for entertainment, dancing, Kids Fun Zone, beer garden and more.

Inland Empire Beer & Music Festival

Saturday, May 13th

20+ breweries, live music, vendors, and some special one-of-a-kind brews will be at the Inland Empire Beer & Music Festival. This event is half beer festival and half music festival showcasing some of the best music in the area and live music from Alien Ant Farm. The official charity of this years event is "Dive Warriors" that helps disabled veterans.

Bluegrass in the Spring Festival

Saturday, May 13th – Sunday, May 14th

Over Mother’s Day weekend, Calico Ghost Town will host its annual Bluegrass in the Spring Festival featuring many bluegrass and country artists. Performers expected include Rocky Neck Bluegrass Band, Get Down Boys and Lilies of the West. Additional family entertainment includes Pig Racing Shows, rope making and blacksmith demos.

The Joshua Tree Music Festival is all about experiencing music and the great outdoors. In this intimate setting the distinction between artist and audience is blurred, and something beautiful is created For more on bands, ticket and camping info and what goes on like yoga demonstrations, Positive Vibrations station and Kidsville.

Hanger 24 Airfest & Anniversary Celebration

Saturday, May 20th

To celebrate 9 years of craft brewing with the local community, the Hanger 24 Airfest and Anniversary celebration will feature a full afternoon and evening of aerial performances, world-class live music, a huge variety of food from the best local food trucks, a family-friendly kid’s zone, and of course, a wide selection of Hangar 24 beers. Taste of Brews Inland Empire

Taste of Brews marks its triumphant return to Riverside’s White Park for the 6th Annual Taste of Brews Inland Empire featuring unlimited tastes of premium craft beers and hard ciders. More than three dozen craft breweries and hard ciders ranging from hometown favorites to regional standouts from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. Prices begin at $30 for 3-hour tasting tickets (1-4PM) and $40 for 4-hour tasting tickets (12-4PM).  All tickets include unlimited 4oz tastes, live entertainment and access to food trucks.

Riverside Vintage Home Tour & Restoration Faire

Each year, Old Riverside Foundation features fine examples of the many styles of architecture prevalent in Riverside at the height of its prosperity. Different homes are open each year to give visitors a glimpse into the lives of Riversiders from different eras. This year in addition to the tour will be a host of booths featuring antiques, crafts, restoration services, and salvaged items for your home and garden.

San Bernardino County Fair

Whether you come for the competition or just the experience, there’s plenty going on at the San Bernardino County Fair this May. There will be competitive exhibits from adult Lego creations, miniatures and models, to agriculture, home arts and more. #BRT Weekend

Friday, May 26th – Monday, May 29th
In Palm Springs & Cathedral City

Koroneburg Old World Renaissance Festival

Saturday, May 27th – Sunday, June 25th

Memorial Day Flower Drop & Air Fair

Monday, May 29th

The Palm Springs Air Museum will celebrate Memorial Day with an entire day filled with flight exhibitions, Heatwave Band, 82nd Airborne WWII re-enactors, Totally Twisted Balloons and Harpo the Clown, and lots & lots of flying aircraft. In honor of fallen soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms, a dedicated ceremony at 1PM takes place with a fly-by and flower drop over 3,000 red and white carnations from a B-25 Mitchell Bomber. And don't forget the beer garden for guests 21+.
