Standing with LA: Resources and Support for Wildfire Evacuees

The recent wildfires raging through Los Angeles have brought devastation and uncertainty to our community. At FirstTeam®, our hearts go out to all those affected by these events. Here's a list of hotels and vendors offering support and assistance to relief victims, evacuees, first responders and firefighters.

Finding Safe Shelter

Many hotels are offering discounted or even free stays for evacuees. Below are a few options—please check availability and eligibility before booking, as these offers are subject to change:

1. The Garland (North Hollywood)

Airbnb.org

Airbnb.org provides emergency housing for people displaced by disasters. In many cases, hosts offer free or low-cost stays to evacuees.

Transportation Assistance

If you need a ride to safety, both Uber and Lyft are offering free or discounted rides to designated shelters:

Uber: Use code WILDFIRE25 for up to $40 in ride credit.

Lyft: Use code CAFIRERELIEF25 for up to $50 in ride credits ($25 for two rides).

Important Notes on Rideshare Assistance

• These codes are specifically for those evacuating due to the LA wildfires.

• Codes are likely time-sensitive—use them as soon as possible and check the app for expiration dates.

• Rides may be limited to specific shelters; check the app or rideshare websites for eligible destinations.

How to Use the Codes

1. Open the Uber or Lyft app.

2. Go to “Wallet” or “Payment.”

3. Add the promo code (WILDFIRE25 for Uber, CAFIRERELIEF25 for Lyft).

4. Request your ride to a designated shelter.

Additional Support

The Red Cross

Provides shelter, food, and other essential assistance to evacuees.

Visit their website or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) for your nearest shelter and further support.

211 LA County

A service connecting people with essential community resources (shelter, food, mental health support, etc.).

Dial 2-1-1 or visit 211 LA County website for assistance.
