New Luxury Development on Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Valley draws over 5 million visitors annually because of its breathtaking beauty and the wide range of recreational activities spanning all four seasons. Big Bear Lake is at the center of the Valley surrounded by mountain peeks, expansive glistening waters and miles of sandy shoreline.

Marina Point Luxury Resort

Marina Point is a new luxury development located along the North Shore of the Lake. These grounds will stop you in your tracks with a sharp intake of crisp mountain air as the gravity of the surroundings sinks in.

Real estate agent Mark Sobczyk says, “It’s about the escape. When you are standing on the shore marveling at the mountain views and literally touching the water all at once – there’s no greater feeling in the world. There will never be another resort of this size and scale again on Big Bear Lake, it’s simply amazing.”

Marina Point is all about getting to experience the natural beauty of Big Bear while still enjoying the conveniences and comforts of resort living. It’s the best of both worlds.

This one of a kind resort all started over 30 years ago with the vision of developer Irv Okovita, who fell in love with the area. It is his excitement and desire to share the beauty of Big Bear Lake with the community that has brought his vision to life.

The Marina Point Resort Community will be a 4-season resort with over 1,700 feet of prime lake frontage with 2 jetties forming a protected harbor. Marina Point has a premium location on Big Bear Lake with views of the ski slopes on the mountains and the open expanse of lake surrounding the jetty.

Marina Point will include a commercial clubhouse and marina as the landmark attraction of the resort. The clubhouse will include 175 boat slips and ferry service to the Village. Owners will enjoy the use of the latest marina design and technology with access to jetties with breathtaking lookout points, picnic areas and fishing facilities. Plans also include space for a restaurant and luxury spa with an associated athletic club.

The picture below shows a rendering of the community to be built – Lakeshore Estates and The Villas luxury condominiums. The Lakeshore Estates will be waterfront properties including private docs with the condos behind, all of which will be within gated communities.

The Villas

The Villas are a development of 110 luxury condos with a total of 10 units per building. The architectural design will include natural materials to enhance the timeless elegance of the Big Bear landscape. These properties will have the feel of a cozy cabin with the modern beauty and conveniences of a brand new home.

During the development phase it was decided to drop down the density (earlier proposed 133 units) to allow for better views and make the most of the amazing space. Now nearly every condo will feature a view of the majestic Big Bear Lake, living up to the promise and original vision of the Marina Point community.

Units range in size from between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet with 3 beds and 3-3.5 baths. Prices start in the $450,000s and will range to $1.150 million.

Lakeshore Estates

The Lakeshore Estates consists of 10 lakefront homesites, each a minimum of one quarter acre rare lakefront real estate. The architecture of each estate will accentuate the surroundings with generous expanses of glass to capture the majestic lake and mountain views. These multi-million dollar homes will range from 4,000 to 6,000 square feet.

There are less than 600 lakefront properties in Big Bear, with only a handful on the market at any given time. Don’t let the opportunity to own your very own piece of mountain paradise slip away.

Making your escape

The reservation process

Reservations are the first step to securing a home at Marina Point on Big Bear Lake. There are three stages of reservations – pink, yellow and white – and currently the Marina Point Resort is in the middle or yellow phase. You can make a reservation by putting down a $10,000 deposit that will go into escrow. These reservations still give you the freedom to change your mind (but why would you?) if the builders make changes that you don’t agree with. such as floor plan changes or changes to unit placement. The final phase (white) is just a few weeks away, so now is the time to get in and secure your spot for this one of a kind homeowner experience.

For those of you who have fallen in love with Marina Point but aren’t ready to be homeowner, there’s still opportunity to enjoy the clubhouse and marina facilities. The public can join the marina club which will have 50-60 docs available for purchase or lease. The restaurant and luxury spa will also be open to the public.
