Held at the Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, our second annual Team Kids Charity Golf Tournament this week raised $400,000 for the local non-profit thanks to the additional generosity of Team Kids Board Members Charles Glorioso, Joe Selby, and the Macquarie Group Foundation matching the total revenue raised. An Orange County-based charity organization whose mission is to empower youth to change the world, Team Kids and First Team share a purpose to serve and better our Southern California communities. Originally partnering with Team Kids in 2018, our relationship has blossomed into a network of agent community outreach opportunities and fundraising events.
“Our inaugural Golf Tournament in 2019 raised $250,000 and ever since, our entire First Team family has been excited to continue this tradition with Team Kids,” said Michele Harrington, Chief Operating Officer of First Team Real Estate. “Now that we’re able to once again, it was so much fun to come together to support a great cause and enjoy a beautiful day with friends and family out on the course.”
Chaired by First Team Real Estate agent Jeff Wermuth from our Tustin Office, over a dozen First Team Real Estate offices participated to provide sponsorships, donations, raffle prizes, and more. The sunny day was spent teeing off with ocean views, including an exciting helicopter ball drop raffle as well.
“We thank both First Team for their generous gift to underwrite 100% of tournament expenses, and Macquarie for their incredible offer to match funds raised,” stated Julie Hudash, founder and CEO of Team Kids. “Because of this incredible combined generosity, every dollar raised was doubled to expand the Team Kids mission to protect and empower youth in our communities.”
Thanks to all of the First Team agents who participated, and of course the generosity of the Macquarie Group Foundation, the second annual Golf Tournament set the bar for Team Kids’ most successful fundraiser ever.
To close out the exciting day, golfers and additional patrons gathered for a charity cocktail hour on the golf links. First Team agents mingled with various business leaders in Orange County, as well as local Team Kids supporters including Irvine Police Chief Michael Kent, Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Shane Sherwood, and Irvine Unified School Board President Paul Bokota.
Delivering powerful benefits far beyond the typical donation of a corporate check, our annual events and individual agent service projects help strengthen relationships with our sales professionals in their farms while increasing visibility for the Team Kids mission.
